Winter Update #13: Post-Rain Glory

6:30-7am, Bussey Hill, Arnold Arboretum
windy, cold, few low clouds

It was a gorgeous, red-gold dawn etching out heavy leftover storm clouds.

Today I finally recorded the unpredictable rhythm of trudging through snow as I ascended Bussey Hill:

I love it when the Bird of the Day self-nominates: this titmouse called out from a few yards away as I approached the crest of the Hill:

At home I sketched a piece based on what seems like the classic four-part bird "harmony" or texture for this time of year: titmouse, jay, cardinal, chickadee.
