Spring 65: All Clear

6:30am-7:30am, Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Plain, MA
warm, clear, blue skies!
Aaaaahhhh... It is a glorious, warm, summery morning.
A vast blue sky stretches above me, and it feels like my first blue sky ever. Well, it is the first time in about 2 weeks!
Almost instantly, of course, I am nailed by some mosquitoes- a little reminder from Mother Nature that nothing is perfect.
Still, the first sunny day after weeks of rain comes pretty close. I see my first hummingbird of the year! Tiny and lovely.
Today's bird is new for me - it makes little chirpy phrases that are repetitive. I think it might be some kind of vireo - its white-breasted, brownish on the wings and has a short tail.
Runner-up, as usual, is the ever-inventive catbird. Listen to this fun call:
**Upon further investigation, I think today's bird might be a Red-Eyed Vireo.
