Winter #30: Shorn
6:50am-7:40am, Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Plain, MA
cool, overcast
It was a sly, subtle dawn this morning.. a fleeting whisper of pink on some rain clouds. The blush was actually more evident on the western horizon than the east - I loved the sneakiness of it!
Lots of blackbirds and robins on Peters Hill, but I didn't hear anything new, so headed back to Bussey Brook Meadow (whose twitterings had piqued my curiosity earlier).
It's been mowed since I was last there, and the innards are much more accessible.
I believe these two calls are the same bird:
Then, a duet with a chickadee who made a call I'd never heard before!
